Through four weeks of the 2010 National Lacrosse League season a number of Major League Lacrosse players have made significant impacts.  Five of the top 20 goal scorers and six of the top 20 points leaders in the NLL are currently on MLL rosters for the 2010 season.  Here is a look at week four indoors from the MLL perspective.

Rochester was the only team to play twice over the weekend splitting a pair of games with Orlando and Toronto.  John Grant Jr. (Toronto Nationals) tallied 5 goals and 8 assists on the weekend including a hat trick in Saturday’s win over the Rock.  Shawn Williams (Toronto Nationals) also found the net in both games and finished the weekend with a pair of goals and 5 assists.

On Friday night, Orlando defeated Rochester 13-8 with MLL players accounting for 10 of the 13 goals.  Jordan Hall (Toronto Nationals) led the way with 4 goals and an assist while Casey Powell (Chicago Machine), 3 goals, 2 assists, and Ryan Boyle (Boston Cannons), 2 goals and 5 assists, also had big nights.  Matt Alrich (Boston Cannons) also had a goal in the win.

In Toronto’s loss to Rochester on Saturday Garrett Billings (Denver Outlaws) continued his hot start with 2 goals and 3 assists.  He now has 13 goals on the season.

On Saturday afternoon Boston scored an 11-9 win over Philadelphia behind 4 goals and 2 assists from Dan Dawson (Toronto Nationals).  Greg Downing (Boston Cannons) had 3 assists and Matt Abbott (Denver Outlaws) had two in the win.  For Philadelphia Kevin Huntley (Washington Bayhawks) had a pair of goals, Drew Westervelt (Denver Outlaws) scored once and had 4 assists and Bill McGlone (Chicago Machine) had a goal and an assist.  Geoff Snider (Toronto Nationals) won 12 of 19 faceoffs to go along with an assist in the losing effort.

The Washington Stealth used 3 goals and 6 assists from Jeff Zywicki (Toronto Nationals) to earn a 12-11 win over Colorado on Saturday.  Jed Prossner (Washington Bayhawks) had 3 goals and an assist in the loss and Brian Langtry (Denver Outlaws) added and assist.

In Buffalo Mark Steenhuis (Toronto Nationals) had a goal and 7 assists and Brett Bucktooth (Toronto Nationals) had an assist in the Bandits’ 11-7 win over Minnesota.  Kevin Ross (Toronto Nationals) had a goal and an assist and Kevin Buchanan (Boston Cannons) had an assist for the Swarm.

Finally in Edmonton, the Rush got 2 goals and an assist from Gavin Prout (Toronto Nationals) and a goal and 2 assists from Brodie Merrill (Toronto Nationals) plus two assists from Corey Small (Toronto Nationals) in a win over Calgary.

Through four weeks Garrett Billings (Denver Outlaws) and Jeff Zywicki (Toronto Nationals) are tied for second in the NLL with 13 goals, on the season. Other players in the top 20 are Mark Steenhuis  and John Grant Jr. with 11 goals each, Casey Powell (Chicago Machine) has 9 and Drew Westervelt has 8.

Zywicki continues to lead the league in points with 35 through 5 games.  John Grant Jr ranks 3rd with 30 while Mark Steenhuis (26), Garrett Billings (22) and Dan Dawson (20) rank in the top 15.
